Joining the Pirate Guild

Rules What We Expect

Rules

Admission to Pirate Guild is by invitation only.  If ye think ye want to join, then send us a note telling us yer character's name, time zone, and when ye play and then look us up in game.

Once ye be admitted to the guild, ye be expected to follow our simple rules:

1     MOOCHING - The Guild does not exist to make yer life easy.  While we encourage our crew mates to help each other out when they can, and ye may even need to ask for the occasional help, but truth be told Pirates are self-sustaining, responsible players who can take care of themselves.  I don't want no Guild mates coming up to me with every Quest they take on, askin' for the ol' Captain to give them some of this or give them some of that.  There is no room in the Guild fer beggars.

I'm a Pirate - I ain't yer Daddy

2     DRAMA - There will be no unnecessary dramatics within the Guild.  In other words, if ye hopes to get all the attention ye feel ye are missin' otherwise by startin' things with other members of the Guild, then ye need not apply.  Pirates are stalwart, honorable types who treat Guild mates and other players with respect.  There is no room in the Guild for baggage-laden drama queens (or kings).

I'm a Pirate - I ain't yer Mommy

FIGHTING - The Guild is a Guild, and Guilds generally work and stick together.  If ye have a quarrel with someone in the Guild, take it to them directly and discuss it IN PRIVATE - not on Guild chat nor in the Guild forums.  After ye have discussed yer issues, shake hands and depart as Guild mates.  If ye can't, then ye need to take it to yer Captain.  Members who can't abide by this rule will be dealt with by their ship Captains.  Pirates are held together by sworn oaths of allegiance to their ships and to their Guild.  There'll be times when we disagree and that be fine - ye are even welcome to use chat or forums for simple disagreeing.  But ye be wise to know the difference between disagreein' and fightin' - the latter usually involves blades, and blades tend to leave marks and hurt people.  There is no room in the Guild for back-stabbers.

I'm a Pirate - I ain't yer Mommy nor yer Daddy

4     CHEATING - Since this particular game don't allow fer no direct player versus player sword play, any cheatin' a player would choose to do will generally only affect said player.  Basically, when ye cheat, ye only cheat yerself out of the challenge of completin' yer Quests with honor and dignity.  That bein' said, the fact is we are Pirates, which leaves us with 2 important points concernin' cheatin':

A   If ye be a cheatin', then don't be a braggin' about it!  If ye find a good place to fish, throwin' chum in to the water will only attract the sharks.  In other words, keep the discussin' about yer exploits within the Guild - do not post about it in the forums and do not brag about it in public chat areas.  We can always share tips and help within the Guild, but keep in mind - what happens in the Guild stays in the Guild.

B   If ye be a cheatin' in any way that does do harm to other players, such as hoggin' a limited resource or other such nasty thing, then ye can expect to be takin' a long walk on a very short plank.  This sort of cheatin' is NOT TOLERATED in the Pirate Guild.

I'm a Pirate - 'nuff said

What We Expect

Unlike other Guilds, we do not require ye to be present for every Guild event, or to pay Guild dues, or to give some crazy Guild salute every time Captain Harlock appears on deck.  We simply require ye to use courtesy with one another and we encourage ye to help one another and be a team player.  These sort of things are what be taken into account when the time comes for Guild promotions to be handed out.
